Pastor Ryan McGhee

How we got here

I grew up in Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a degree in Chemical Engineering. After college, I married my beautiful wife Elissa, a Park Falls native, and we moved to Northern Virginia to start working at a large consulting company. We were there for 13 years where I led small groups at my church and was the Teen Director for 6 years.

In 2022 I completed a Master of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. As I neared graduation, unsure of what God was preparing me for, I took a course on rural ministry through the Rural Home Missionary Association's Town and Country Training program, and the picture began to come into focus.

Shortly after graduation, I was ordained and my family, which had grown to include 4 wonderful children, packed up and moved to Park Falls as a missionary pastor with the intent of planting a church. Elissa's family has deep roots in this community, and those roots opened doors that would have taken years to open otherwise. In the summer of 2023 we started a small group with five people. In September 2024, we held our first official service as Flambeau Bible Church in our basement. We moved to the Fire Hall around Christmas, and are currently meeting jointly at the Evangelical Covenant Church.
